冬至(Winter solstice) – 22/12/2011

It is a Chinese traditional to eat glutinous rice balls on 冬至(Winter solstice). When we eat a bowl of glutinous rice balls, it means that we are a year older in Chinese age. This kind of traditional has pass down for many generations. My family has been following the traditional for many years now. Hehe I took some photos ~ to share with you !

Old traditional type of glutinous rice balls with no fillings!

My grandma and mum shared almost the same childhood memories on this special day!  They told me that as a child , they were very excited to help their mother to made those little small glutinous rice balls! This also remind them about their mothers too. 🙂

Hehe secretly shot my grandma 🙂
